‘Motherless’ wins award at Bengaluru filmfest

Iranian film ‘Motherless’ has won an award at the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) in India.

Iranian film ‘Motherless’ has won an award at the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) in India.

The film directed by Morteza Fatemi, won the best film award at the Asian films section of the 2023 edition of the event.

“The film is about the peaceful life of a couple, which, when one of them pressures his decision, inadvertently enters into trials and dilemmas and moral dangers. One does not gain anything unless they lose something, and every decision has a price that must be paid,” a short synopsis of the film reads.

Amir Aghaee, Mitra Hajjar, Pejman Jamshidi and Pardis Pourabedini star in the film.

The 14th edition of the BIFFes had different sections, including contemporary world cinema and Asian cinema competition.

According to the official website of the festival, it hosted various sessions for the academic interactions/discourse on different aspects of Filmmaking & Film Appreciation, through Seminars, Workshops, Masterclasses, etc.

The 2023 edition of the festival was held on March 22-30.
